As a technical analyst, I was responsible for facilitating the software development processes at CPPIB. Beyond providing day-to-day support for issues as they arose, I supported the company’s efforts to centralize how internal projects were tracked and how knowledge was managed and stored by migrating the various systems and processes to central servers running JIRA and Confluence. Efforts were also being made to centralize how code was managed under a standardized revision control (or version/source control) system using Subversion.
The main objectives were to reduce non-value add tasks through automation and customized UI achieved through researching and testing extensions and configurations to these systems that would simplify their use.
